Update: NBC Mailing Campaign #EATTHERUDE

For those of you unaware, we have 1 week to convince NBC to keep Hannibal on for a second season. In this time we are choosing to inundate NBC’s NY office with business cards to let them know we mean business, Fannibal style.

Even if you aren’t able to send a business card in the mail, you can still create one in time for the show this Thursday. That’s right. We’re combining the mailing campaign with a twitter campaign in order to get #EATTHERUDE trending on twitter.

This is something that everyone can be involved in, no matter where they live.

WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?

It is really important that our views are counted, even if you aren’t one of the lucky 25,000 in the US to have your views counted.

Having Hannibal related tags trend on twitter while the show airs gives networks like NBC more concrete data on exactly how many of us are watching. Trust me, they will be paying close attention to this.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?

1. Show yourself

Take a photo of yourself with your business card/s
ready for tweeting just before the show this Thursday. (If you are outside the US, please check your local Hannibal air time/date for when to tweet!) The plan is to tweet our pics, along with the hashtag #EATTHERUDE in order to trend during the episode!

2. One hashtag to rule them all

#EATTHERUDE is this week’s hashtag - tagging #Hannibal won’t result in trending. As Twitter puts it:  “Twitter Trends are automatically generated by an algorithm that attempts to identify topics that are being talked about more right now than they were previously. The Trends list is designed to help people discover the ‘most breaking’ breaking news from across the world, in real-time.”

If we keep tagging #Hannibal each week (or any other common word) we will to keep topping ourselves in order to compete. This is why we need a different hashtag each time :)

ALSO NOTE: #EATTHERUDE must be the only hashtag present in each tweet - otherwise it simply isn’t counted. For reals.

3. No points for early check-in

Please make sure you are online at the right time, in order to make the biggest impact. We want to appear on the scene out of nowhere and take twitter by surprise! I suggest starting no earlier than 1 hour before Hannibal airs, continuing through until the show finishes.

4. Show your love

These are some of the most important accounts you can tweet during the episode

Official NBC@nbc

Official NBC Hannibal - @NBCHannibal

Bryan Fuller - Creator @BryanFuller

Martha De Laurentiis - Exec Producer @neoprod

Dino De Laurentiis Co - Production Company @DeLaurentiisCo

David A Slade - Director @DAVID_A_SLADE

Thanks again Fannibals for all the support. Keep the business cards rolling in and let’s get #EATTHERUDE trending this week!

If anyone has any questions please get in touch, if I don’t respond right away, it’s because I’m in Australia and it’s a miracle I’m still alive. Drop bears and everything ;)

Celebrating Victory Day

Will you be celebrating May 9? Be sure to share your photos with the #9мая, #риа9мая and #moskvapomnit hashtags.

Today, millions of people around the world celebrate Victory Day, the day when Nazi Germany surrendered in 1945. Due to time differences, the holiday is celebrated on May 8 in most parts of the world and May 9 in the former Soviet states.

The holiday remains extremely significant in the former Soviet region due to the gravity of World War II: an estimated 28,000,000 people were killed in the Soviet Union alone. Regardless of faith, political affiliation or nationality, people come together to honor their war veterans. Hundreds of military parades complete with armored vehicles, fireworks, choreographed marching and speeches will be held in various cities. To see sights from some of the biggest parades, follow Russian news agency (@ria_novosti), Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev (@damedvedev) and visit these location pages:
